Fichte & Co s is proud to announce that Senior Associate, Paul Katsouris, has been named ‘Young Person of the Year’ at the 2016 Seatrade Maritime Awards – Middle East, Indian Subcontinent & Africa.
Now in its 14th year, the prestigious awards ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA). Honouring the best companies, individuals and initiatives in the region’s shipping and maritime industry, the awards brought together 850 of the sector’s most high profile and senior professionals in a spectacular celebration at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai on October 31.
The Seatrade Maritime Awards Young Person of the Year accolade is awarded to an individual under 45 years of age who has made an outstanding contribution to the shipping and maritime industry over the last 12 months. As a Senior Associate at Fichte & Co, Paul Katsouris has built an impressive reputation through his deep understanding of the shipping industry, and his commercial approach to dispute resolution. Always readily available to offer clients immediate options and manageable solutions, he is known for his ability to settle disputes and he has worked extensively with Counsels in foreign jurisdictions having gained experience in handling cross-border disputes, arrests and arbitrations. An active member of the UAE’s maritime cluster, he is known as the driving force behind the Hellenic Shipping Association UAE, while he has also recently set up a Pro Bono facility aimed at offering legal and mentoring sessions to young entrepreneurs and start-ups.
