READING ON THE UAE DOMESTIC WORKERS ENTITLEMENTS AND TIME BAR THEREOF, COMPARED TO THE UAE LABOR LAW (1 CLPD POINT)

This course will cover the Regulations of the workers’ rights conferred in the Domestic Workers Law No.10 of 2017 and the Cabinet Resolution No.22 of 2019 (Executive Regulation) with a comparison between the same and the labor law.

The course gives a comprehensive thought on the time bar provisions in the applicable labor laws and their judicial applications.

 

Agenda

  • Section 1: Introduction (10 Minutes).
  • Section 2: Covers the Domestic Workers Law No.10 of 2017 and the Cabinet Resolution No.22 of 2019 (20 Minutes).
  • Section 3: Covers the time bar provisions in the labor laws (Labor law No. 8 of 1980 as amended & Domestic Workers Law No. 10 of 2017) and the judicial applications thereof (20 Minutes).
  • Section 4: Q & A (10 minutes).

Mahmoud Ahmed joined Fichte & Co in 2018 and has a law degree from the Faculty of Law at Alexandria University in Egypt and is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association since 2006. Prior to joining Fichte & Co, Mahmoud gained valuable experience in Shipping, Civil, and Constructions litigation and dispute resolution at EGP & UAE based law firms. With more than 9 years of experience as a Shipping Lawyer and P&I Correspondents in Egypt in addition to long valuable of experience as a litigation specialist in UAE, Mahmoud’s knowledge and experience in UAE litigation is broad. He has successfully handled all types of lawsuits before the federal and local courts of the UAE. He particularly manages matters in the areas of Shipping, Construction, Civil, Commercial, and labor disputes for local and international clients. Mahmoud Ahmed supports our clients in all interactions with the dispute resolution and as a true litigator, spends the majority of his time drafting Courts submissions. Due to his extensive experience in working as a legal consultant in the UAE, he represents and advises our clients in all necessary ways for litigation and dispute resolution under the UAE Laws.

With over than 8 years of experience as a Legal Advisor in the UAE, Hassan’s focus of advising on Corporate, Banking, commercial, civil, construction, and labor disputes. Yet he has wide ranging experience of litigation. His expertise extends to matters of regulatory compliance in the area of contracts, corporate matters, and handled all types of lawsuits before the federal and local courts of the UAE, he also has extensive experience advising on Arbitration and dispute resolution particularly in the areas of corporate. His wide knowledge and experience in UAE enable him to be a well-verse with UAE laws. Hassan has a law degree from Al Neelain University and MBA from Sudan Academy for Sciences. in Khartoum, Sudan. He is a licensed lawyer in Sudan since 2008 and has worked for several companies as a Legal Advisor, gaining experience in Civil Law, Commercial Law, and Banking law. Hassan joined Fichte & Co Litigation department in July 2020. He handles major litigation issues and advising clients on Civil Law, Commercial Law, and insurance laws.
