From issues related to ownership of crypto wallets to minting NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and to the possible re-application of Lex Arbitri to arbitration proceedings related to digital assets in general, the course covers all such aspects in a multidisciplinary manner. Provided that from crypto assets to digital tokens in general and from regtech to fintech, everything related to the metaverse implies blockchain technology and smart contracts, few critical discussions appear with relation to consent, separability, and other principles inherent to arbitration proceedings. As well, the discussions will also cover issues of public order and imperative norms of law, which are applicable to – de minimis – enforcement procedures for arbitral awards. Of course, these discussions will be transposed to what is legally achievable in proceedings related to this new space.
