Fichte & Co is proud to announce its latest industry accolade after being named ‘Best Maritime Law Firm’ at the 2016 Maritime Standard Awards. The Maritime Standard is the region’s most exciting and coveted maritime and shipping awards, with the annual ceremony held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and Group.
Judged by a panel of esteemed international figures, the awards honoured individuals, organisations and companies across different categories for their achievements and exceptional contributions to the region’s maritime and shipping industry over the past 12 months. Keynote speech was given by His Excellency Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) to over 600 guests attending the ceremony, which took place at Atlantis the Palm Dubai, and celebrated excellence across all areas of maritime activity across the Middle East and beyond.
Fichte & Co was chosen for the award from among the world’s top international maritime law firms, a testament to the firm’s consistent adherence to the highest standards of excellence in an ever-changing industry. Founded by Managing Partner Jasmin Fichte in 2005, today Fichte & Co has the Middle East’s largest shipping team, combining regional best practice with international quality standards. The firm has achieved several landmark judgments, revolutionising legal practice in the UAE. Jasmin Fichte is considered a pioneer for the region’s shipping industry – aside from her involvement in Fichte & Co, she is the inaugural chair of the Dubai Maritime Advisory Council, and heads the UAE chapter of WISTA, an association for women in the maritime and shipping industry.
